Integration of interactive elements to enhance user engagement.

Above I have added a number of examples I have designed so far for my webpage that will enhance user engagement.

Firstly I have added icons of all the major social media sites at the top right hand side of the web page, which I copied and pasted from Adobe XD which allowed me to change the colours of the icons to what colour I wanted which allowed me to make them white to contrast against the dark purple background. Adding a feature like this is important as it greatly increases user engagement as social media is a big part of our lives and this allows the user to engage across the multiple social media of the Freedom Festival and also to connect with other users online.

Another feature I have added is the use of video within the site, which when entering the site will be playing automatically, however, the site will only play one video at a time to avoid confusion and to avoid creating a feeling of been overwhelmed. the videos can be played and paused by the user and if they want to watch another video on another tile of the page then all they have to do is hover over it and the video will begin to play.

To add to this, within one of the tiles I have included a tile which showcases some history of Hull and also includes a quiz, this will make the user learn something about Hull and may also increase the chances of them scrolling through further pages of the site by going through those pages and the quiz.

Lastly, to show that the site is interactive I have made it so that when you hover over a certain tile they will enlarge, to make the site feel a more alive rather than it just been a boring static site, which may make the user play around with the site more, and I have also added this to the sections of the webpage so that when they are hovered over and clicked on a white ring will be around it to tell the user that is what they have clicked on and engaged in. I have also added a search bar button so that they can search for what they want in the site, and there are also the buttons that I have mentioned in another post about accessibility which will also increase engagement too.
