Above are mockups of both environmental and experiential brand applications. Having the pair of these part of your brand is essential for multiple reasons. Having environmental brand applications is very important when it comes to promoting a brand, firstly it allows you to promote the brand to the wider public and to those who may not use or have access to things like social media or the internet, for example, this will help your brand to reach the older generation as a lot of them don’t use social media and so on. You can incorporate environmental brand applications in many ways, whether that be just simply placing posters around your local area or going more large scale and placing your ad on something such as a billboard or at a bus stop. My idea when creating my environmental approaches was to create designs that could feature on multiple things such as bus stops, billboards and so on and have them placed all around Hull so that it reaches as much people as possible in the city. When designing these I again stuck to my brand identity by using the same colour palette and font throughout. I kept the billboard simple and minimal so that it leads the viewer to look straight at the text so they learn straight away what the ad is about. I avoided including any information as usually people don’t tend to read the information on billboards these days so having just a large bold piece of text helps get the point across what its about without a person having to pay much attention.
For my experiential brand application I have designed a mockup of a stall that I would place throughout the city that would be selling things such as merchandise, VIP tickets and so on. These pop up stalls would be a hub where people could go to ask any of the volunteers information about the festival and having these dotted throughout the city would allow a potential customer to see more information in person of what the festival is about and also what they could potentially see if they were to attend the festival. I designed these stalls again using my brand identity with the image been used to help make the stalls eye catching which helps grab a persons attention and again helps give off the emotion and energy of the festival.
